Route description:

Doubice (you can park directly in the village in front of the Old Tavern or in the Forest parking lot behind the village) we will follow the yellow tourist sign in the direction of the Narrow Stairs. The path leads through the forest and climbs slightly up to the U Eustecha signpost (possibility of sitting). Then, in 1 km, a beautifully steep (but safe) descent awaits you between sandstone rocks (see photo). Note: those who are afraid of stairs can take the less steep path. You continue along the yellow road to the intersection of Louka na Tokání and Purkartický les, where you “jump off” (climb the ladder) to the top of Ostroh (484 m.a.s.l.), or Rudolf’s stone. Amazing views.

From the viewpoint, we continue back along the same road to the Na Tokání junction. Here we connect to the blue sign that will lead you to the Na Tokání cottage (year-round accommodation and catering).
After lunch, we will head back along cycle path No. 3029, which leads back to Doubice via the Saula information center (open in season).

Get on your bike in Krásná Lípa and head towards Kyjov (direction Mikulášovice, cycle path 3013). In 15 minutes you will stop at the Fakulta inn, where you will turn off the main road and drive through the Kyjovský údolí along the Křinice river. Along the way, rock massifs with viewpoints await you, sitting on the Tourist bridge and the border crossing in the defunct village of Zadní Doubice. One kilometer after the crossing, you will come across a signpost on the German side, where you follow the direction of Hinterhermsdorf (ascent). Hinterhermsdorf is a picturesque village of wild timber. In the middle of the village there is an information center and a restaurant. From the village there is an asphalt road with signposts to the Obere Schleuse, where the cruise boats dock. Park your bikes in peace at the ticket office, buy a ticket (5 EUR) and go on a pleasant boat ride (20 min). You will return to the bikes along the footpath that skirts the river.

Now it’s up to you. If you go back to Krásná Lípa by the same route (the shortest option) or you go through Zadní Jetřichovice (crossing) or you go back on foot for a while with your bike against the current (already through Hinterhermsdorf) and you will reach Zadní Doubice and here you can also go to the settlement of Kopec , Brtníky following the blue tourist sign. In the settlement of Kopec, there is direct seating in the inn U Oty. So think about your journey

A beautiful easy walk full of relaxation. We chose the path from Rynartice along the blue path, still behind the nose, until you come across a signpost, here we changed the color to red and set out through the valley along the stream for about 5 km. The children thought of it as running through the obstacles that are offered in abundance along the path: every now and then they climb a slope, a rock or a large stone, jump over roots, climb trees that have fallen across the stream and explore the surroundings. Look at the icefall map.  Signposts lead to the individual glaciers from the main road.

It depends on you if you plan a trip from place A) to place B) or make a circuit from place A) through place C) back to place A). In the 2nd zone of the national park, you can also hike off the marked paths. Just be careful. Sometimes the roads are icy or completely covered in snow.

During the journey, Edmund Clary-Aldringen’s Countess guides you through the information boards and explains the secrets of the local nature. The Sokolí hnízdo restaurant is under the Pravčická gate. Nice photogenic place with possible seating on the terrace. However, in order to get here and to Pravčická brána, you have to pay a fee to the local operator. Personally, I think the views are worth it.

From Sokolí hnízd, follow the red tourist sign and after about 30 min. you will arrive at the Tři prameny crossroads. Here, continue along the road past the parking lot until you come across a signpost at the beginning of the village of Hřensko with the Edmund’s Gorge (closed) arrow. Hospitality in Hřensko is not famous, so I recommend holding on and continuing in the direction of the boat upstream of the Kamenice river following the yellow tourist sign (40 min).

There is a fee for the boats, but the payment is nice, the narration of the “captain and guide” is funny. The cruise takes 20 minutes. Fast food is fixed at the end of the cruise and there is often a fire for roasting. If you want to get some cash. There is no cycle path directly to the Pravčická Gate and can only ride a bike in the National Park on the cycle paths. But …, are there other options? To approach the bike and to milk the rest on foot. Where to approach? Either three springs or on the marker. In both places there are cycling-farms.

For example, from Krásná Lípa you will go towards flowing. Then go downhill down the hill to the so -called Czech road, take a valley where you can ever meet someone, climb the hill towards Malá Pravčická and there is a bound meadow in front of you, where you can keep the bike in the storage or down 4 km until to three springs and you will have it on the Pravčická gate on foot.

In general, the cycle paths in the national park are up and down, but on the electric bike you are from the beautiful linden to Pravčická per hour and a half :).
