Auto můžete zdarma zaparkovat nad Lazarus-Haus v Waltersdorfu a vydat se po turistické značce směr Lausche 1h. Pomalu se budete posouvat klikatou cestou vzhůru. Za 20 min dorazíte k začátku starého vleku a černé sjezdovky, po které  se již dávno nikdo nesvezl. Můžete se zkratkou vydat přímo k vrcholu po sjezdovce dlouhé 600m nebo jít stále po značené cestě až na Luž.  V rozhledu z vrcholu Luže na všechny strany pomáhají panoramatické mapy a nově i rozhledna.

Sestup z Luže k chatě Luž je otázkou 15 minut (po červené). K občerstvení můžete zvolit  Lužickou boudu, odměnou je ochotná obsluha s dobrou kuchyní.  Raději počítejte s mírnou časovou rezervou, míst k sezení je tu poskromnu a  obsluha je jen jedna.  Sedí se tu ale příiiiijemně. Pro zpáteční cestu můžete zvolit cestu okolo Luže po červené značce na české straně a prudký sestup zpět na parkoviště směrem na Neu Sorge.  Celá cesta je dlouhá přes 8 km a překonáte na ní výškový rozdíl 330 m.

Výstup lze jít v pevné horské obuvi nebo na sněžnicích. Sněžnice si můžete zapůjčit v půjčovně sportovního zařízení Cottage.
