A trip to Bastei is one of the classics that cannot be missed when visiting the region. If you go to Bastei from the spa town of Kurorth Rathen, you will also have the experience of a picturesque place, streets with cafes and restaurants. From this point, you will follow the marked route up the steep hill for about 40 minutes. The path is suitable for pedestrians, not for prams, it is a set of stairs. The reward for the steep climb will be several famous views of the Elbe canyon. Bastai resembles the defense of the Neurathen rock castle, the dominant stone bridge (1851) measures 76 meters and spans a deep chasm, the so-called Marten pit.
