Icefalls are formed in valleys and gorges on rocks throughout the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. The most famous grow along the Vlčí and Brtnické brooks in the eastern part of the park. Most often, icefalls grow in January-March. However, it depends a lot on the weather.
Where is start?
A) Brtníky green line to Sternberk
B) Kyjov , parking place and follow red line along the river
C) Valley U jezevce,
D) Kopec, parkoviště u hostince U Oty ( Open Fri-Sun)
Look at the icefall map. Signposts lead to the individual glaciers from the main road.
It depends on you if you plan a trip from place A) to place B) or make a circuit from place A) through place C) back to place A). In the 2nd zone of the national park, you can also hike off the marked paths. Just be careful. Sometimes the roads are icy or completely covered in snow.
